Hill Training! Mathison Rest Area to Victoria River Roadhouse - 93kms

Breakfasted and packed by torchlight. Then discovered Del's trailer tyre had a puncture. That explained his tiredness yesterday. Removed a thorn embedded in the tyre then Del put in a new tube, and repaired the original one.

Challenging riding for 60kms through the rugged hills of the Gregory National Park with long, gradual, seemingly endless inclines.

Big herds of Brahman cattle gathered around water holes and under trees.

Mainly downhill for the last 30kms to the Victoria River and roadhouse - a neat, attractive (and welcome) oasis surrounded by hills.

Had just arrived when caravaner, Pauline, approached and thrust a donation into our hands. Thanks so much, again, Pauline.

All cash donations can be found on the "givealittle" website (wifi permitting).
Took a motel unit for a good night's rest and early start in the morning, as another big ride is planned.
