Hot! Hot! Hotter! Timber Creek to East Baines River Rest Area - 58kms

Afternoons have become increasingly hot - well exceeding 31degrees. We decided to cut down our daily distances while riding through the hilly region to come, to avoid being out in the afternoon sun.

Left Timber Creek at 7.00am on a flat road .running alongside the majestic Victoria River. Unable to get down to the water because of several sections of road works.

Today's unusual roadkill - a recently deceased donkey!

Mature boab trees everywhere, standing resplendent and shaming the scrubby bush.
Arrived at the rest area at midday - and celebrated with a cup of coffee and a sit down lunch.
Lots of shade, few caravans (so far) and little road traffic - a great spot. Only thing missing is a toilet!
Oh well! We manage somehow!
